Maria Pencheva is a Managing Director at Innovative Shareholder Strategies. Maria uses her finance background to address the goals of shareholders and management team members of privately-held companies. She advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, ESOP transactions, and debt and equity placements and provides ongoing consulting services to businesses nationwide.

 

Maria began her professional career at the Leveraged Finance division of Barclays Capital where she analyzed and completed senior and junior debt underwritings for leveraged buyouts, refinancings, and recapitalizations with typical transaction size of $200 million to $2 billion.

 

As a Vice President at CSG Partners, Maria led the execution process on approximately 20 successfully completed transactions. Responsibilities included evaluating and structuring potential transactions, leading due diligence, overseeing the drafting of confidential information memoranda and investors’ materials, managing communication among transaction parties, and negotiating stock purchase terms and credit agreements.

Maria is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College. She sits on the Boards of Directors of Counseling in Schools and the Mount Holyoke Club of New York City.  Maria holds the Series 7 (General Securities Representative,) Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law,) Series 79 (Investment Banking Representative,) and Series 82 (Private Securities Offering) licenses. She is a member of the National Center for Employee Ownership, the ESOP Association, and the ESOP Emerging Leaders Group.
